Spokane Community College has teamed up with EdSights to launch Ask Skitch, an A.I.-based SMS chatbot built in the likeness of our mascot, Skitch. It turns out this mythical creature has a knack for navigating campus!

Ask Skitch is designed as an extra tool to promote student well-being. It serves as an interactive check-in system that periodically texts students to make sure things are going well. You can also text Skitch to find immediate answers to hundreds of questions related to SCC, including key deadlines, information about accessing campus resources, and much more.

Skitch is available 24/7.

So, when you need guidance, drop Skitch a text!  If Skitch thinks you need additional support, the chatbot will notify the appropriate person on campus who will reach out to you.

Students will receive an introductory text from Skitch once they are enrolled enrollment. Once you receive this message, simply add Skitch's number to your contacts and reply to initiate the chat. You can then text Ask Skitch whenever you'd like, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Skitch will send check-ins throughout the year using a targeted framework, designed by EdSights and customized by Spokane Community College, to initiate conversations with students and collect information in areas such as belonging, wellness, financial stress and academic engagement.
