The short answer is yes; however most students are waiting on FAFSA funding, which doesn't drop until the first day of the quarter. We do encourage students to order books before the start of the quarter, if you have the means to do. Textbook information is available on our bookstore website 3-4 weeks before the start of each quarter. Orders can be placed; however, we don't begin processing orders until 2 weeks before the quarter begins.

Yes, if you would like your item shipped to you, standard shipping rates apply. However, we do offer a free in-store pick-up option as well.

We can ship anywhere in the US; standard shipping rates apply. You will see the cost based on your shipping selection. Local students who select shipping, please select standard shipping, it will arrive in 1-2 business days.

FAFSA funds are not connected to the bookstore. If you have additional financial aid after tuition and fees are paid, those funds are dispersed directly to you based on your disbursement selection in the financial aid office.

If you are working with the Workforce Transitions office, L&I or any other third-party provider, please make sure the voucher is in place in the bookstore before placing an order or coming into the bookstore to purchase. If you are working with the Running Start office, they will send voucher information to the bookstore, if checking out online, you can select “voucher only” at the payment screen, if the total is more than your award amount, you will have to enter a credit card number as well on the payment screen.

Once purchased, the information on how to access your material will be emailed to you at the email you provided at time of purchase. This email comes from Digital Learning and often goes to spam. Please check your inbox, trash and spam folder from Digital Learning. (This is the same process for access codes purchased in the bookstore or on our bookstore website)

Textbook buyback is always the last two weeks of every quarter. A valid student ID card is required. Student ID cards are free in Building 15. Buyback is done in-person only at the SCC Campus.

Rental textbooks must be returned to the SCC Bookstore either by mail or dropped off in-person. Please see all your rental reminder emails for specific details. Anyone can return the rental for you as long as they have the textbook and your phone number. We DO NOT have a drop box.

Yes, share with them "the ready for pick-up email" that includes the box number.

Rental books require a credit/debit card to rent. You can use cash on the total transaction; however, a credit/debit card must be put on file in case the book is not returned. You must be over 18 to rent because you are signing a binding contract.
