Student Grievances

If a student would like an action, inaction, or decision made by Disability Access Services (DAS) to be reviewed or reconsidered, the student can submit a complaint. For example, a student could ask for a review or reconsideration of the following:

Students should submit their complaints as soon as possible, but no later than 60 days after DAS took action or issued a decision. Complaints should not be made to DAS about instructors, college staff, or other students.

In many cases, student concerns can be resolved informally through direct communication with the Director of Disability Access Services. This process can be initiated by personal meeting, letter, email, or telephone communication. To the extent possible, informal grievances will be acted upon within 48 business hours. The time it takes to resolve an issue depends on the nature of the issue. The director may contact you to schedule a time to discuss the grievance. The director may ask you for more information and will discuss potential resolutions to your grievance. Students can request that a final decision be documented in writing.
