Selective Entry Programs

Some programs at SCC require unique application steps in addition to the regular college application. These unique steps could be pre-requisites, specific start dates, limited number of students accepted innto the program, a specific application deadline, or any additional application requirements.

This list summarizes some of these additional requirements but be sure to check out the details on the program's page by clicking the orange button.

Apprenticeships

Dental Assisting

Pre-requisites: No, English and Interpersonal Communication can be taken prior to or while in the program.

Expanded Function Dental Assistant

Medical Assistant

Please note: Regarding COVID-19 concerns, the Medical Assistant Program is following strict guidelines and distancing requirements that allow both cohorts to be on campus for their required in-person laboratory hours, per accreditation requirements.
The Medical Assistant Program enrolls off a waitlist, which is updated every quarter. Interested candidates should meet with an Allied Health Counselor to make sure they have met the prerequisite requirements. After meeting with an Allied Health Counselor, contact Jeffery Clark at Jeffery.clark@scc.spokane.edu or 509-533-7013 to ensure they are appropriately added to this list for the upcoming cohort start for either spring or summer.
 

Nursing

Nursing Application Workshops: Join us via Zoom to learn the ins and outs of the SCC Nursing/DTA application. Choose one of the following sessions and send an inquiry to nursingapp@scc.spokane.edu for the meeting link and password:

  • Wednesday, 10/06/2021, 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Please note: Students must complete 45 of the 60 credits of general core coursework (see Admissions Requirements below for more info) prior to being eligible to apply. Interviews are conducted as part of the competitive application process.
