Our Resources

In addition to in-person programming, the TLC has resources to implementing effective classroom strategies.

Library:

The TLC has a collection of books and materials focused on professional development. In partnership with the SCC library, there is a collection of titles specifically for instructors. Additionally, many resources are available online through the TLC’s Research Guide. Thanks to our library faculty, you can access ebooks, online journals, and other resources.

Online Professional Development Courses:

There are several Canvas courses with information and resources on a variety of topics. You can self-enroll in the online course shells by contacting the TLC Coordinator or by following the links in the weekly email. Here are the current list of online resources:

  • The SCC Faculty Handbook is an online Canvas course designed to support SCC faculty, you can join anytime. The list of resources available is not large, but if you have a topic or an idea about expanding the handbook, please let me know.
  • If you are a new faculty member at SCC, you can join the New Faculty Online Course, a Canvas resource with information about teaching and key procedures. To enroll in the course and access resources, contact me.
  • There is an online TILT Canvas Course that provides an overview of the basics of creating transparent assignments. If you have wanted to know more about TILT but haven’t been able to join an in-person TILT event, please enroll in the course. .

Individual Consultations

The TLC Director is happy to meet with faculty individually to consult on individual learning goals. Whether you are a new instructor interested in foundational classroom strategies or a seasoned professional seeking to improve specific skills, the TLC is here to support innovation and success. These visits are confidential, providing informal feedback and resources that help you meet your instructional goals.

If you have ideas or suggestions about future programming and faculty needs, please contact TLC Coordinator, Angela Rasmussen.
