Disability Accommodations

Spokane Community College has support service programs and centers for students who have documented disabilities and who are “otherwise qualified” for community college programs (as defined by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act). Services may include academic, vocational and rehabilitation counseling and assistance with admission and registration.

Academic accommodations and adjustments are available based upon individually determined needs and may include interpreters, assistive learning devices and technology, note takers, readers, scribes, materials and textbooks in alternate format, large print or Braille materials, priority registration, alternate testing, information, and referral services. Other specialized services may be arranged on an individual basis.

To receive services, students are required to contact and provide documentation of their disability to the Disability Support Services (DSS) office. See the SCC Disability Access Services page for more information and how to apply. All inquiries and requests for services are considered private.

Parking at CCS Locations

Paid parking is required on the SCC or SFCC campuses from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students can purchase a parking permit for the whole quarter, monthly, or single day pass through the CCS online parking portal. If using your personal email and not your bigfoot email, use the “Are you a visitor?” link on the NuPark site to create an account with the email of your choice. Note that a parking pass bought at either campus is good for both. Students can also park at designated meters for up to 2-hours. Parking fees are subject to change without notice. Parking permits are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Paid parking meters are available at various locations denoted by “PM” on the campus map. Parking meters accept coins for up to 2 hours at a time.

Zoom Links

For those taking online classes, ACT 2 faculty utilize Zoom as their primary online delivery application. Zoom links are often sent within 48 hours of classes beginning. At the discretion of the faculty, they may be sent sooner. If you have registered for an online class and have not received a zoom link at least 2 days before class beginning, email your instructor and copy scc.act2@scc.spokane.edu. Other students may be experiencing the same and we may be able to assist. It is important to test equipment with the zoom link to confirm class access before it begins. Technology is fickle at best.
