Enameling on Copper is a beginner-friendly class that introduces you to the art of fusing powdered glass onto copper to form vibrant, decorative surfaces. You’ll learn how to prepare the metal, apply enamel, and fire your pieces in a kiln. Use your finished creations as jewelry, incorporate them into other projects, or enjoy them as standalone art pieces. Have you ever gazed at the Northern Lights or the Milky Way and wished you could preserve that moment forever?

Now you can! Learn how to confidently photograph the night sky with guidance from a professional photographer.

Whether you're using a DSLR, mirrorless, 35mm, or even a cell phone camera, this hands-on class will equip you with the skills to start capturing stunning nighttime photos.

Items to bring to class:

  • Camera (DSLR or Mirrorless preferred, but all types welcome!)
  • “Fast” Lens (F2.8 or wider, preferred but not required)
  • Tripod
  • Camera Manual (if you have one)
  • Charged Batteries
  • SD Card with plenty of room on it
  • Remote Shutter Release (optional)
  • Basic working knowledge of your equipment

Geology of National Parks

Join Geologist and retired SCC Faculty Andy Buddington for his Geology of National Parks series. This series will explore the geology of some of our national parks with a focus on landscapes of the western U.S. From ancient rocks of over 2 billion years in age to volcanic regions, to the more recent glacially sculpted areas, you will investigate the beautiful landscapes and diverse geologic processes that represent the best of this great continent. Come explore the exciting geology of our National Parks!
