ABE Graduation Ceremony 2026
Adult Basic Education graduation ceremony recognizes graduates from the following programs;
- High School Completion (HS+)
- General Education Diploma (GED)
- English As a Second Language (ESL)
Students who graduated or have completed the program requirements between July 2025 and June 2026 are invited to attend the ceremony. HS+, GED and ESL students do not need to apply to graduate.
Graduates will receive an email the last week of April to fill out RSVP. To participate in the graduation ceremony, an RSVP is required.

Parking on the campus is free after 5:00 p.m.
Cap and Gown Pick Up
Caps and gowns will be available for pick-up only at no cost beginning May 19 in the SCC Bookstore.
SCC bookstore, located in the Lair Student Center, Building 6.
- Dates: May 19 through June 12, 2026
- Times: Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Extened hours: Thursday, June 11; 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Students do not need to reserve these in advance. Please bring student ID to help with identification. Students may have a family member or friend pick up on their behalf.
Honor cords will be distributed with caps and gowns for GED graduates who received a total of 640 points (or an average of 160 on all four tests).
Graduation stoles will be distributed with caps and gowns for HS+ graduates who are graduating with diploma and have earned college credits while enrolled in the HS+ program.
When picking up caps and gowns, graduates will receive additional information about the commencement ceremony.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Graduates must pick up their cap and gown in advance.
- There is no “ticket” to the event. Admission for students and all guests is FREE. Seating is available on the first come first served basis.
- Graduates are expected to arrive no later than 5:30 p.m. for processional line-up, wearing their cap and gown.
- Students should bring only what they will carry throughout the ceremony. There is NO place available to leave personal bags or belongings.
- Graduates are expected to participate in the complete ceremony, which should conclude by 7:30 p.m.
Accommodation
Wheelchair accessibility will be available via ramp for students participating in the ceremony. Students needing assistance in walking or staying off their feet for an extended period of time are encouraged to let staff know when they check in.
Wheelchair seating for guests is available near the front of the stage.
Sign language interpreters will be positioned near the front of the stage.
Diplomas
Students will receive a diploma cover at the commencement ceremony. Formal diplomas/certificates will arrive in the mail after the spring quarter.
Photos
Photos of individual graduates will be taken at the ceremony by our partner, After Image Visual Services. Order forms will be available at cap and gown pick-up and at the ceremony. There is a charge to order photos. Specific costs and package options will be available at the ceremony.
