Prerequisite Evaluation
Many courses at SCC have prerequisite requirements that block your ability to register until the prerequisite has been satisfied. If you have taken the prerequisite course at another regionally accredited institution, official transcripts must be sent to SCC for evaluation. An unofficial transcript can be used to receive a prerequisite code from a counselor or academic advisor.
Transcripts provided to SCC become a part of your permanent record and cannot be copied, returned or removed.
Students enrolled in professional/technical programs should see a counselor or department chair. A course exception form must be filled out and turned in to the Transcript/Records office if any of the classes on the regionally accredited institution transcript are to be used in place of a required course.
Unofficial transcripts, grade reports and online printouts will not be accepted for an official evaluation. Your transfer transcripts should be sent from the transfer institution directly to the Transcript/Records office.
Full Evaluation
A full evaluation is done for all official transcripts received at SCC. Students with transfer credit should see a counselor or department chair. A course exception form must be filled out and turned in to the Transcript/Records office if any of the classes on the regionally accredited institution transcript are to be used in place of a required course.
