SCC Skilled Trades Program Awarded $50,000 WSDOT Grant

Students in the Skilled Trades Program (STP) at Spokane Community College will benefit from extra support thanks to a new grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation. The 11-week pre-apprenticeship program gives students experience in a number of trades before choosing one.

SCC Awarded USDA Grant to Train Welders in Newport

Students will graduate from the program in December 2018, and all classes will be taught in the evening to make them accessible to people who work or have family obligations during the day.

CCS Class of 2017 takes flight

Spokane Community College (SCC) and Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) students have earned nearly 3,000 college degrees and professional certificates, plus more than 300 certificates signifying GED, ESL or high school completion, as commencement ceremonies gear up beginning Tuesday, June 13.

Spokane Falls Community College Leadership Transitions Announced

Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) Vice President Darren Pitcher, EdD., will replace current SFCC President Jan Gullickson beginning July 1. This transition was announced today by Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) Chancellor Christine Johnson.
