45 RNs graduate from SCC summer quarter 2020

The SCC Nursing Class of Summer 2020 graduated on time and was about the same size as last summer's despite spending their last two quarters studying during a worldwide pandemic.

CCS nets $4.3 million in extra state pandemic support

A tough financial time at CCS got a boost this week when the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges approved giving it $4.3 million in one-time funds from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief fund.

SCC and partners prepare rural students a pathway to jobs

The demand for electricians in Stevens, Ferry, Pend Oreille and Lincoln counties is estimated to grow at a rate of 1.9%, with 206 annual openings through 2027, according to State Employment and Security Department data.

Colleges get more support for Running Start

At a time when high school students are considering their options, the Community Colleges of Spokane has been awarded an $89,546 state grant in a competitive process to help Running Start students with the costs of attending community college.
