Hagan Center Diversity Dialogues for Spring Quarter

The SCC Hagan Center for the Humanities kicked off its spring quarter Diversity Dialogue series April 14 with a presentation by Carlos Gil, a retired University of Washington professor who taught the history of Latin America there for over 30 years. His talk explored Mexican immigration by spotlighting his own family’s history. Gil is author of a book “We Became Mexican-American: How Our Immigrant Family Survived to Pursue the American Dream” that traces his family’s history from the 1920s to the 1970s.

CCS students among those selected by honor society

Three students at the Community Colleges of Spokane are among the nearly 60 being honored on Thursday, April 15, in a virtual ceremony by Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.

2021 Commencement will be virtual on June 18

The Community Colleges of Spokane, which includes Spokane Community College and Spokane Falls Community College and their satellite campuses, have determined that all spring graduation ceremonies will be held virtually 
SCC and SFCC will each host a livestreamed web-based ceremony on June 18, 2021, with presentations by college and student leaders and a performance by the SFCC choir.
