The Aerospace apprenticeship program provides on the job training to anyone new to the workforce or to individuals looking to upgrade their current skills or already working as a machinist, aircraft mechanic, etc. Within two to five years, you earn a Journey-Level Certificate, enabling you to work anywhere in the U.S. as a master trades person.

Qualifications

• Currently working for a manufacturing company AJAC has partnered with – we only enroll apprentices.
• At least 16 years of age.
• High school graduate, GED or are working towards a GED with proof of successful completion of the
• GED within 6 months of entering the apprenticeship.
• Pass college Math and English classes (090 or higher) or complete an assessment test such as the:
  • World of Work Inventory with minimum scores of 27.78 numerical and 34.95 verbal.
  • ASSET Test with minimum scores of 37 reading skills, 37 writing skills and 43 numerical skills

The Inland NW AGC offers three open shop apprenticeship programs:

AGC Carpenters: Carpenter Apprentices will complete 160 hours per year of related supplemental instruction training in everything from blueprint reading to building layout to finish work. Carpenter Apprentices must complete 8,000 hours of on-the-job training to achieve Journeyman status.

Cement masons pour and finish all types of residential and commercial concrete, including concrete floors, steps, sidewalks, driveways, curb and gutter, and concrete paving. Cement masons apply toppings, overlays, stains, and sealers to new and existing concrete. Grinding, patching, and repairing new and existing concrete are also included in the cement masons’ job description. Cement masons ensure that concrete is poured and finished according to professional standards and job specifications.

Electrical Workers

The electrical trade is unique in that it is mechanical, technical and professional. In order to meet industry demands in an ever evolving technical environment, the electrical industry must select individuals who have the aptitude to learn and develop the knowledge, skills and abilities to proficiently perform the individual job tasks associated with the work processes of the electrical trade. The industry must select and train individuals who will diligently work and study to stay abreast of current and future emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Be at least 17 years of age to apply and at least 18 years of age upon acceptance

• Completed one full year of high school algebra or equivalent post high school algebra course with passing grade of ‘C’ or above

• Possess a valid driver’s license

The National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) is a joint labor-management educational trust fund serving the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) and the employers who employ its members. Some of NEIEP’s main responsibilities are to manage and direct the implementation of curriculum design, and administer and monitor probationary training and evaluation programs for all apprentices entering the trade. The overall mission of NEIEP is to improve the knowledge and skills of apprentices and mechanics not only for their benefit, but also for the benefit of their employer and the industry. NEIEP also assists the employers within the IUEC by periodically conducting recruitment drives and creating lists of qualified applicants from which new apprentices are hired by elevator companies.

Union journeymen Roofers and Waterproofers work on a variety of types of buildings, protecting those facilities against water intrusion and ultimate damage to the structure and its contents. Roofing in the commercial and industrial sector is generally of the built-up type or the single-ply category. In built-up roofing, layers or piles of felt are set in hot bitumen over insulation boards to form a waterproof membrane. An aggregate may be imbedded in a final bitumen coat to protect the membrane from ultraviolet radiation of the sun and other environmental hazards.
