Bricklayer

This is an apprenticeship program which means you earn while you learn. This is a structured training program combining paid on the job learning with related classroom instruction. This allows apprentices to gain practical skills while earning a living wage with healthcare, retirement, and other benefits preparing them to become journey level workers. A journey level worker is a master in their trade, able to perform all required tasks to industry standards.

This program offers apprenticeships in Bricklaying, Tile Setting, Pointer-Cleaners-Caulkers, Marble Masonry, Stone Masonry, Terrazzo Working.

In partnership with Spokane Community College, the Inland Northwest Masonry Apprenticeship Program offers Bricklayers Apprenticeship courses in a rigorous line of study and skill development. The goal of the program is to share industry knowledge, skills, and techniques to develop apprentices into highly skilled journey-level bricklayers. The Inland Northwest Masonry Apprenticeship Program is a comprehensive, hands-on initiative designed to equip apprentice bricklayers with essential skills and knowledge. Apprentices engage in both classroom instruction and practical applications where they learn about various types of masonry materials, tools, and techniques.

The curriculum covers key topics such as reading blueprints, understanding building codes, and mastering laying, bonding, and finishing bricks. Under the guidance of journey-level instructors, apprentices gain experience through real-world projects, fostering teamwork and precision. This program not only emphasizes technical proficiency but also instills a strong work ethic and safety awareness, preparing graduates for successful careers in the construction industry.

Please note that this program is broken into quarters but this is an apprenticeship that takes three years to complete. Apprentices begin with “Bricklayers Year 1 Apprentice” unless they receive advanced standing from the JATC, which allows them to begin at a higher level in the program. Apprentices are also college students and recieve a certificate for completing 45 college credits from Spokane Community College when they graduation.
