Starting a Club or Organization

Follow these steps in order to start a new club or organization.

1. Gather students interested in the club. Submit contact information for the students interested in starting the club to Student Activities. Stop by the Student Leadership Center email studentlife@scc.spokane.edu or call 509-533-8900.

2. Meet with Student Activities staff. Schedule a meeting with a staff member to discuss goals for the club, getting a campus advisor, funding opportunities and campus resources the club can access.

3. Develop a club name.

4. Get a campus advisor. Student clubs are required to have a campus advisor, usually a faculty member. If students have someone in mind, let Student Activities staff know this information. Arranging to get a campus advisor must be done through Student Activities, who can explain this process in more detail.
