Clerical Assistant

If you are looking for an entry-level office position, this certificate could help you get the job you want.

In this program, you learn about customer service, keyboarding, document formatting, office procedures, scheduling, and calendaring. You also develop your written and oral communication skills and build an understanding of office terminology.

The program offers three tracks: administrative clerical assistant track, medical clerical assistant track, and legal clerical assistant track.

  1. Apply basic knowledge of current office procedures, techniques, and records management systems.
  2. Operate a variety of office equipment such as computers, electronic calculators, facsimiles, telephones, and copy machines.
  3. Apply knowledge of grammar and punctuation in the creation and editing of business documents.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
  6. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
