Current Wellness Offerings

Groups are accessible by contacting Ronda Hain at ronda.hain@scc.spokane.edu to inform her what you wish to participate in. All groups and workshops to be held in building 16, room 170 (next door to the library)

Registration is open the first 1-2 weeks of the quarter for the groups.

Workshops are drop in. No registration of any kind required!

Stress Less

The impact of stress reaches far and wide and is usually negative, yet it does not need to be this way.  This group will provide methods for identifying stressors and strategies to embrace and effectively manage them. Students will be able to construct a personalized lifestyle management plan.

Writing for Self-Discovery

The art of journaling is recognized as having long-standing benefits for our emotional well-being as well as enhances verbal/written expression in an academic or employment setting. This group focuses on both aspects.  

Self-Compassion

Find out how to be Self-Compassionate as a necessary skill for happiness, personal fulfillment and success.

General Support Group

This group is designed to support individuals as they navigate change and difficult situations, gaining insights from the facilitator and other group members.

All workshops are 1 hour long and the content is the same on each date listed.

Coping with Change & Uncertainty

Change is constant and with it often comes uncertainty, anxiety, and stress.  This workshop will  offer ways to navigate it for optimal outcomes. Drop ins welcome, no registration required!!

We all know fitness is good, great in fact, but yet less than 19 % of everyone is doing it.  Come learn about ways to find the time, motivation and self-discipline to make this a part of your life. Drop ins welcome, no registration required!!

Balancing School and Life

Holidays; Merry or Meh?

Holidays can be a really tough time if you are experiencing the loss of a loved one, a breakup, the loss of a job, an illness, or just going through a difficult time. It can feel like the loneliest time of the year instead of the most wonderful time of the year. Come meet to find ways to make it a little brighter. Drop ins welcome, no registration required!!

Beyond Trauma

This group helps to create a healing process that allows individuals to recover from the effects of trauma in their lives.

Beyond Blue

This depression management group is for students whose depression keeps them from living the life they want. By becoming as informed as possible and learning about skills and strategies to help overcome depression, students will learn to feel happy and hopeful again.

How to Be Happy

Personal life satisfaction and happiness are shown to not only improve our mood, but our health, longevity, academic performance, and relationships. Students will emerge from this group with actionable ideas to implement to achieve these benefits.

General Support Group

  • Mondays only 10:30-11:20 in Building 7 room 131
  • This group is designed to support individuals as they navigate change and difficult situations, gaining insights from the facilitator and other group members.

Individual Services- These are support services that are scheduled at mutually convenient times for the student and staff to address areas of personal wellness, mental health, work, or educational issues.
