I have had 26 years teaching and coaching experience at mostly the high school level. This is my first year with SCC and the PACE program. I love sharing my knowledge and love for fitness. Exercise is beneficial for everyone’s physical and mental health and ties in with PACE’s goal to help you prepare for life and employment.

I am the secretary of Kettle Falls Food bank board and volunteer there once a week, secretary of Washington State Search and Rescue Volunteer Advisory Committee, member of Ferry and Stevens County Search and Rescue, and Happy Tails Dog Park board member (we established the first/only dog park in Colville). When I am not doing any of the above, I can be found enjoying all outdoor activities, traveling, spoiling my dog, being spoiled by my husband of 33 years, or reading.

Biography
Mitch lived in the Flathead valley of Northwest Montana some 15 years and then moved to Spokane in 2002 to pursue an interest in American Sign Language. After completing the Interpreter Training program and graduating from Spokane Falls Community College, he worked as a freelance interpreter serving the needs of the greater Eastern Washington Deaf community. He worked in the Mead School District, with various interpreter agencies in Spokane, and with the Southeast Washington Service Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing based in Pasco, WA. During those years Mitch volunteered extensively with the greater Spokane Deaf community where he gained experience and insight into a variety of disabilities. Having owned several small businesses, he has a broad base of experience using the computer and a wide variety of software programs. Mitch has been an instructor with PACE/SEER since 2012. He finds great joy learning about computers, computer software and people every day – on many occasions learning from the students themselves.

Biography
After a 43 career as a US Army officer and engineer, I am finally doing what I have always wanted to do: teach and coach. I grew up in Allentown, PA with a very supportive family who gave me many opportunities. From there I received an appointment to the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. Graduating in the top 5% of my class, I served for 6 years on active duty, stationed in West Germany and Ft Lewis, WA. From there I returned to Pennsylvania to attend graduate school at Lehigh University. Graduating with a masters degree in industrial engineering, I started working for IBM in upstate New York and Rochester, MN. During this time I helped raise my oldest 2 sons, one who is now a program manager and the other an Army officer. I was also fortunate in that I was able to serve in the US Army Reserves. Upon leaving IBM after 16 years, I worked for a smaller firm a few years and then was hired by Boeing to work on the Army's Future Combat System program in Huntington Beach, CA. My other 3 children were born during this time; one is now a manager at Amazon in Spokane, another a teacher in Kent, WA and the youngest a junior and captain of the Whitworth basketball team. I am very proud of all my 5 children and see them as my greatest accomplishment. I transferred to Boeing in Everett, WA and worked on the 787 Dreamliner airplane, retiring in 2019. Today I am teaching at SCC PACE and coaching middle school football here in Spokane. It is a privilege to work at PACE and on the football field with our youth, the most enjoyable jobs I have ever had. My wife Carolyn and I live on the north end of Spokane and really enjoy this area. My hobbies are fishing, reading, and working out.

Biography
I am Adjunct Faculty with SCC through PACE Services and have been instructing with this program since 2019. I teach Dance for Parkinson's through Northwest Parkinson's Foundation. I have taught ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary dance classes for the past ten years. I have also choreographed for Gonzaga University for both their theatre and dance department and ACDA, Immaculate Conception High School, and local studios. I love spending time with my family and my nieces and nephew. I am so blessed to work with PACE students, they make me smile each time I see them.

Biography
I have thirty years teaching experience, including K-12. I have been an instructor at Spokane Community College since 2014 for PACE Services and the Job Ready Program. I enjoy serving our students and watching their self-confidence grow along with their academics, I like to spend time with my children, read, write, playing piano, and traveling.

I spent 38 years in K-12 education in three school districts covering southeast, central, and northern Idaho. I held positions at the building and district office levels in Speech Pathology, teaching, (in several special education positions), and administration. I retired from public education and took a CEO position with a community rehabilitation agency in northern Idaho, serving people with disabilities. At our agency, children participated in an after school and summer day camp program, youth in high school transition and Pre-ETS Summer Work programs, and adults in employment training, employment support and a day health program. After 7 years, I retired again and moved to Colville to be near my husband's family, including his elderly parents.

For the past 5 years my husband and I have been raising three of our grandchildren, 2 of whom have developmental disabilities. My interest in PACE has come from my experience with high school transition, Pre-ETS Summer Work, and the upcoming needs of my grandchildren. Since March of 2020 I have home schooled the 2 children with disabilities.

In my spare time I like to spend time with our extended family, and enjoy the outdoors by walking/hiking, driving my quad, or in my kayak.

My brief experience with PACE this fall has been rewarding, uplifting, and satisfying. I'm so glad to be a part of PACE.

Biography
I have been with PACE Services since 2014. I started out as a Work Study student, Classroom Assistant, and Instructional Tech on the Education Team. Since Fall 2020, I am a Community Inclusion Consultant on the Employment Team. I really enjoy working with PACE students and they are the reason I come to work. In my personal time, I enjoy my family and my five dogs.
