When are parking permits required on campus?
A:
Parking permits are required to park at CCS facilities between the hours of 6:30 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Of course, if parked at a meter, the meter must be paid. Additionally,
citations will be issued for any vehicle improperly parked regardless of time or day of occurrence. Improperly
parked vehicles (e.g. blocking other vehicles, loading/unloading zones or fire lanes) may be towed at
owner/driver expense.
Q:
Do students have the first two weeks of the quarter to buy
their parking permits?
A:
No, enforcement of the parking rules and regulations will
begin the first day of fall quarter and will continue until the start of the following fall quarter. (WAC 132Q-20-240)
Q:
What should I do if my permit is not in the vehicle I
parked on campus?
A:
If you have a permit but do not have it with you, the Office
of Campus Safety can provide you with a one-day temporary pass.
Q:
Can I park free of charge if I have a state-issued
Disabled Placard?
A:
No, the driver must display his or her State Disabled
Placard as well as a current CCS parking permit. Those displaying both permits can park in any parking area except Maintenance.
Additionally, if parking in a metered slot, the meter must be paid.
Q:
Can I back into a parking space or park against the
flow of traffic?
A:
No, all vehicles must follow all traffic markings. In
spaces that are marked for diagonal parking, vehicles are to be parked at a forty-five-degree angle, facing inward.

Can students ever park in faculty parking?
A:
Yes, students may use faculty parking on a first-come
basis after 3:30 p.m. (WAC 132Q-20-150)

How far into the yellow can I park?
A:
Zero inches of your vehicle can be in the yellow. Yellow
painted curbs indicate a loading zone or some other restriction. (WAC 132Q-20-170)
Q:
Can I park on campus streets for free?
A:
No, all streets accessing campus are considered
campus property and thereby require a parking permit.
Q:
Instead of buying a parking permit for the entire quarter,
can I purchase daily permits?
A:
Yes, one-day permits may be purchased for $3.00 at the Book
Store located in the Lair, B#6; the cashiers office, located in B#50; the Office of Campus Safety, B#1, Rm#147; or at one of
two parking kiosks located west of the tennis courts and in P11 between buildings 50 and 8.
