Communication Studies - "Speak Out!" Student Club
The mission of "Speak Out!" is two-fold:
- The club provides exceptional educational opportunities for SCC students to learn more about how to be effective
professional and personal communicators.
- The club engages in service projects that benefit the Spokane community. For example, the yearly Poetry Slam is a
service project with the third graders at Stevens Elementary School. The club also sponsors major education conferences
such as the Spring Communication Conference.
"Speak Out!" has won awards for:
- Student Club of the Year
- Student Club Event of the Year
- Student Club Advisor of the Year
There are many benefits of joining a club on campus: it looks great to have extracurricular activities on your resume,
you can meet new people, and you can learn a lot of relevant information while having FUN!
"Speak Out!" has meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month (fall quarter through spring quarter).
We meet from 1:30-2:30 PM in the Hagan Foundation Center for the Humanities (second floor of the library).
